The Environmental Systems division has developed a model validation program (MVP) for improving the toxic hazard dispersion models used at space vehicle launch sites (Cape Canaveral in Florida and Vandenberg Air Force Base in California). The Computer-Assisted Protective Action Recommendation System (CAPARS) is an integrated model for predicting the path and impacts of an atmospheric release of hazardous materials.
