I definitely think that parkour/free running is an extreme sport. It takes a lot of athletic ability to do the things they do in it. Lots of kids here are doing it, even little kids around the ages of 8 & 10. They really like to do the jumps, leaps, and flips.

Parkour is a very great game which is completely enriched and filled with all the excitement, thrill, hard working, and it is a game for very active, fit and vigilant people.

Hey! If you're interested in Parkour check out this new video by Damian Walters. It's been done in conjunction with Kodak to show off the new Playsport - designed specifically with extreme sports in mind it's great for this kind of thing. Either way, this is some great footage so definitely worth a look...

yeah mahn I think it is an extreame sport but because it is more an expression of movement I believe it to be more closely related to a discipline. That is only my opinion as a traceur.

I don't think parkour on it's own could become a sport because it is about getting from A to B but I think freerunning could more easily because then it can be judged in a similar way to how gymnastics or the X Games is judged.

Freerunning still isn't a recognised sport as of yet but such events like redbull art of motion and the freeruning championships are making it more of a sport whereas when I started in 2006 it wasn't about competition.

Above are two videos which I think allow you to see the difference between parkour and freerunning x

Fairly extreme no doubt. The more competition based it is becomming then id say a few years down the line it may well be considered a sport

Parkour is most definetly extreme. But, it´s like any other sports. You can make it into what you want.
