Human powered circumnavigation!

I just found this site. Expedition 360 - A Human Powered Circumavigation

It looks like Jason Lewis completed this journey a couple weeks ago. 13 years after starting it. This is the first I had heard of this expedition.

STEVE SMITH and JASON LEWIS set off from the Greenwich Meridian on the 12th July 1994 to attempt one of the last great firsts for circumnavigation. Steve decided to leave the expedition upon reaching Hawaii in 1999. Jason carried on solo and is still on course to complete the circumnavigation in October 2007.

Now that is some major focus. These guys, or Jason rather, should go on a speaking tour. I'd love to meet them.

I looks like they do education and speaking but they don't have a schedule on their site. That would be cool to meet them!

I've tried doing some research into Human Powered Boats. It seems that if you wish to have a vessel like theres that can travel across oceans, then you pretty much have to have it custom made. There were not any real commercial sellers of the style that these guys used.
