First Human Powered Circumnavigation of the Earth
Canadian Adventurer Colin Angus and Julie Wafaei completed a two-year, 26,000-mile (41,843-kilometer) circumnavigation. What made this circumnavigation unique was they did an entirely human powered trip. This amazing adventure included rowing across the Atlantic ocean, biking from Vancouver to Alaska, skiing 2,175 miles (3,500 kilometers) across Siberia, a bike ride 3,400 miles (5,472 kilometers) across Europe to Lisbon, and more.
The duo have been named the National Geographic Adventurers of the Year for this feat.
