Hunting

I was just wondering since many of you are campers and outdoors men. Do any of you hunt or have tried hunting before? I usually go out on a hunting trip every 4 months with family.

I have never really been a fan of hunting, though I like to fish. I did find that story amusing when, was it the vice president, shot another guy on a hunting trip.

Yeah it was quite the story, wasn't it. People need to take saftey alot more serious when their holding a gun. It is bad for the sport, and the name of hunters everywhere.

yummy

Okay so I can't say I'm that fanatical of an animal rights activist that I dont' believe in hunting deer. I mean come on, they have no natural preditors and in my area they are more likely to get hit by some soccer mom's SUV. I just took a bit of a daring step and had venison this weekend.... BEST meat I've ever had in my LIFE!! My friend got filet minon and it even topped that! SO! Hunt on men, save these poor deer from a gruesome fate at the hood of some Escalade and let them die with instantaneous dignity by a hunter's rifle. Then call me, I'll come for dinner.

a buddy of mine was an avid hunter and would always try to talk me into going out with him, but it's just not my thing

I hunt. Duck and Pheasant mostly, with shotguns.

Sometimes Woodcock, Snipe, Pigeon, Rabbit.

Organised fox hunts sometimes to keep the numbers down, they have no natural predators here.

I've never hunted with rifles but there isn't much big game here and most of my rifling experience is with small bores.

What do you hunt?

I love duck and dove hunting. I can get up early for duck hunts but not for work ... go figure.

I grew up in South Texas, so when on a "camping" trip it was quite normal to hunt. We would shoot quail near the bays in the gulf. White-tail around our home, but by far the best venison I have ever had came from an Axis deer we took down in the Hill Country. They are an import from India that has taken over the area so it is open season for them all year long. Yum
