I perfer saltwater, but it's not always avalible. I have quite a few freshwater lakes near by, that I usually go to. So I like they both as one is better but the other is much more convinent.
I can't remember the last time I fished in a lake. I used to go trout fishing in various rivers in Georgia. Since my father got a big boat, I have always gone saltwater fishing.
In my country we don't have lakes or rivers or such so no freshwater! I always used to fish in saltwater, so obviously I prefer saltwater as I don't have any other alternative!
Freshwater, its more of a challenge. Fishing in saltwater is like catching fish at a fair, but you do get some whoppas which put up a good fight. But again, fly fishing is very enjoyable on a calm freshwater lake - so I suppose freshwater wins it.
I've done almost all my fishing in freshwater. I've tried saltwater a few times while I was sailing in the caribbean but never had much luck catching anything.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bow lines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Explore. Dream. Discover.
I don't fish, but i would think that fishes are more abundant in the freshwaters..
Though, nothing's fresh here!
I would prefer going to a nearby river to fish than to a far-away sea.
Tough call. I prefer saltwater bay fishing. I'm not one for the deep sea game.
I've never eaten fish as tasty as Speckled trout, red fish, and flounder. love it!
Although, the southern part of me does love a good catfish.
