Creepiest Experience

One of the creepiest experiences I've had outdoors was while canoeing down a small river. My friend and I came upon this very low duck-your-head type of bridge. Every inch of the underside of this bridge was covered with the BIGGEST, hairiest, black spiders I've ever seen. And they were about 2 inches from me head.

Yes, I did the "Creepy dance" once we were out the other side. LOL

Mine would have to be when I was camping in the Texas Hill Country. I was sleeping in a tiny tent and awoke to soft snorting and a really fowl smell. The sound and scents continued for what felt like hours. The next morning I found that my entire camp site was surrounded by the tracks of the what the locals call the "Wild Russian Boar". These things are nasty buggers that can get up to a half ton or more. And they are definitely not nice.

You're lucky it didn't go after your tent. Boars are not something you want to mess with!

Yes I was very fortunate. I think it may have even been a mother w/ piglets. There were many different track sizes. From what I understand coming across a wild boar w/ off-spring is a double wammie.

When I was very little I was camping with my family somewhere in the southwest us. I awoke in the middle of the night to a tingling sensation all over my head and neck. I went back to sleep thinking that my arm had fallen asleep. When I woke up, the first thing I saw was a mass of daddy long-legs nesting in the top of my tent. They had traveled over me in the night!
